We regularly perform in-the-field production. To make this easier, KDM Productions has a half-ton grip van equipped with a large array of production gear. From Apple Boxes and C-Stands to complete Camera and Lighting Kits, we are self-contained and ready to travel. We utilize the JVC GY-HM700 ProHD Solid-State recording camera with the 17x HD Fujinon lens. Using SDHC cards and shooting natively for Final Cut Pro in a variety of HD formats including 1080p and 720p with the Sony XDCam codec, this camera allows for a smooth, quick and easy workflow for both, in the field and studio productions.
We also utilize the JVC GY-HM100, which is matched perfectly with all of the specs of the HM700. It uses the same codecs and captures the same high-quality HD video. Rounding out our camera arsenal is the Canon 5D Mark II DSLR. It's become the latest rage to capture HD 1080p video with these units, utilizing their full-size sensor for the highest quality video available for the price. We're also able to shoot and edit in the PAL format for our international clients. Fully-equipped ARRI and Lowell Light Kits, a 6 foot and 9 foot scrim jim, and Senheisser Wireless Lav and Boom Audio packages complete our production kits. In-the-field client monitors are also included to provide our clients with their own view for approval of each shot.
When production wraps and moves into post-production, we have two MacPro systems onsite, each running Apple Final Cut Pro HD with Boris FX, Graffiti, Adobe CS3 and and seamless I/O through the Matrox MXO2 box for fully uncompressed, digital HD or SD in and out.
